How to miss your purpose (7 reasons why you should)

Great Nia:

I believe it is important to do things that make us happy. I believe that we should be passionate about whatever it is we are doing so much so that we can not stop talking about it. I have recently realized that it is also important to have time away from work. When you are passionate about what you do, and you have a strong desire to see your purpose come to life, you may find yourself working non-stop. Don't get me wrong, hard work is definitely needed in order for things to happen, but there has to be a balance.

The reason why I say this is because overworking yourself could cause you to lose focus, and for the vision of your purpose to become clouded. When this happens you will grow frustrated with yourself and what you are doing. Taking the time out to give yourself space from work will allow you to relax, refocus, and gain clarity on the vision of your purpose.

We all need time off every now and then. We need time away from our careers, family and friends. Allowing ourselves time away can help bring back our passions with a new perspective or understanding of our purpose. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we are doing that we forget how far we have come. We begin to judge ourselves and our work harshly with dull eyes that need new light to see clearly again. Give self some space. It is ok to miss your purpose for a few days or maybe weeks. You may be surprised what you come up with while you are away. Here are some examples of what may happen:

1. You’ll beat boredom

2. You’ll improve your work

3. It will boost your productivity

4. Grow closer to yourself

5. Figure out what you really want in life

6. Your chances of success go up dramatically

7. Experience the freedom to explore other options in life with no regrets
