Great Nia:Nia Toast Podcast
There's a saying, "Life is a bi+@#, get over it." But it's not that simple. In fact, life is much more complicated than that, especially when you embody the message of Nia.
A Nia person is one who has a sense of purpose and is determined to make a difference in the world. They know what they want, go after it and don't let anyone or anything stop them. In other words, a Nia person has no time for games nor do they have time to waste on things or people that don't support their purpose.
But how do you know if you're on your Nia? Many believe that they are on their Nia (purpose), but they are on the easy route that they were punked into believing it was their own choice. Many times we think we're walking on purpose because it feels good, but we're really just walking in our comfort zone –the place we choose to go because it requires little effort and presents little resistance to us.
The problem with this is that we find ourselves in situations where we feel stuck and unhappy because what we thought was our purpose turns out not to be our true path at all. A person on their Nia should never feel stuck or unhappy for long! Of course there will be hard times, hard times are necessary for growth, but a person On Nia will be able to get through. Here are a few questions to help you think more deeply about this:
What is your Nia (purpose)? What brought you to it?
Do you think that everyone is on their Nia?
What advice would you give to those who are questioning their Nia?
What is your Nia? How do you know?
After you wrestle with these questions realize that life and awareness are defined by challenges, a word that is synonymous with difficulty. As challenges arise greater self understanding is required to address them, therefore creating the next level of challenge. When the challenges appear to divert from our desire to know ourselves, because of how uncomfortable we are, we tend to avoid them at all cost and choose easier routes. This however, is not on our Nia (purpose). We may believe that it is but it's more likely that we are being punked into believing so. So be brave, lean on your tribe, and define your own path through difficult situations and you will be rewarded with your greatest gems - gifts of wisdom and peace. Here are some steps to help you stop getting punked by life:
1. Quit being a victim
2. Quit waiting for something to happen
3. Quit settling for less than you deserve
4. Quit blaming others for your problems
5. Quit thinking that everything is about you
6. Quit worrying about not having enough time, and resources to do it all- focus on what’s important
