Kwanzaa is right around the corner and I am excited for what 2023 will bring. For me life is an adventure and I look forward to the mystery and the challenge of what is to come. But the best way to deal with the future is not to wait for it to catch you, but to begin to create it in the present. I am constantly studying our culture and looking at the principles that have come out of it. I believe that what we have to gather out of our past must serve us in the present so that we can build a better world for those that come behind us. Kwanzaa Season Get Your T-shirts Now

We have officially entered Kwanzaa Season for Gye-Nyame Journey. I have already hit you with the offer for the Ecourse(if you missed that click NguzoSaba Challenge), but now here is the offer I have for you now!!! Before I go there I want to ask you who will you be repping when you goto this year’s Kwanzaa. I mean Kwanzaa after all is supposed to be about us, and our ancestors. Checkout our “Too Black” line and walk in with your Ancestors on your chest. We can even put your personal Ancestors on your chest (like I did with my grandfather). We will be co-hosting a Kwanzaa celebration on December 30th at Wolf Park. We have limited space and more inf will be provided as we approach the date. I will also be posting up the City Wide Celebrations date and times as things are finalized. so stay tuned.

My Personal Health Journey

Right now we have our warriors experimenting with growing microgreens and I am excited. I also have started growing some in my house (check Video) and I will start adding these beauties to my diet. I will keep you up on how I am using them and let you know if I am able to get the young people interested enough to create enough to become the community supplier.

For those that don’t know microgreens are vegetable greens that are harvested just after the first leaves start to grow. These little beauties can be ready for consumption in about 10 days, and they are very healthy. Microgreens are said to have somewhere around 40X more nutrients than the full grown greens.The are packed with:

Iron

Zinc

Magnesium

Copper

Polyphenols

Antioxidants

Vitamins C,A and B Vitamins

Calcium

And much more. It should be needless to say that this young powerhouse help fight a multiple of diseases that have become normal in our community. The best part is that it is easy to do it yourself.

On top of the microgreens we still are working with Urban Gems and are getting large batches of greens that are going unclaimed. We have been focusing on Collards, and mustard greens. Hopefully I don’t have to speak with you about the health benefits of these greens, nor tell you you should add them to your diet regularly. If you are in Columbus, Ohio and you would like to get your hands on organically grown greens on a regular basis be sure to hit us up through our email and one of our warriors or NationBuilders will get back at you.

I am including a video where I show the young people how to prepare the greens using a thrift store steamer. Quick, simple and extra healthy. Remember we can’t serve our Ancestors if we are unhealthy.

I am still continuing on with my mushroom regiment. I am currently taking Freshcap “Ultimate Mushroom Complex”. This mixture includes Turkey tail, Lion’s mane, Reishi,Cordyceps, Maitake & chaga. I am also taking additional cordyceps, Turkey tail mushrooms from Gaia. I chose these two brands because they claim to use only the fruiting body of the mushroom, and not the mycelium. The fruiting body is the part of the mushroom that we see and the mycelium is more like the roots. I Like using the fruiting bodies right now, until I am able to do more research on the health benefits of Mycelium. I will be getting back with you after this first round is over.

I have also started growing some of my own mushrooms (Check The picture). We are in the beginning stages, after I complete and harvest I will introduce the warriors to the process. We have found a supplier that can provide us with spores for pink & giant oyster mushrooms. Right now I am only growing the pink oysters.

Listening & Reading

Over the last week it has been review time for me. I am going back through the Nguzo Saba Challenge and keeping my notes. Finding little nuggets to share online, as well as have discussions and debates with other tribe members. The fact is that you have to stay tight on your information if you are in Gye-Nyame especially when you are ranked up.

I recently purchased a copy of “Think & Grow Rich” By Napoleon Hill from audible, although I have never read the book many of the ideas were familiar to me. It was refreshing to go through this book and hear some of the truths that my Ancestors also stated. But the strongest idea that I got from the book was the “Master Mind’ idea. In Gye-Nyame we call this the MindSet meeting. The idea is to formulate a group that will meet regularly and help each other solve problems, and hold each other accountable. The deeper element that caught my attention was the fact that the group formulates a larger consciousness that all within the group can draw upon in times of need. Just thinking about the idea gets me excited. The MindSet is an important aspect of Gye-Nyame, and I will be building a MindSet for those that successfully completes the NguzoSaba Challenge. I Highly suggest this book!!!

I also have begun to do more research on the power of the breath and went into my audible account and began to relisten to a book called the “Oxygen Advantage” by Patrick Mckeown. This book is packed full of scientific information about the breath, and its effect on health and life over all. He gives some simple breathing techniques that help you get more control over your breath and stop yourself from becoming a “Chronic Breather” (yes you can over breath). I decided to refresh my knowledge because I am going to begin to offer Axe’ Breath training in 2023. Breathing is a major key I believe that can unlock rapid transformation and healing in our lives. I paused on sharing because many people in my community were not ready for it. A simple 1.5 hour session could bring on massive change, but people would have to be ready to face some personal demons and respect the process. I was not seeing that with many of the groups that I was working with, but I believe that it is time to let the Genie out of the bottle. So get ready for a axe’ breath workshop coming soon... Lastly I have listened to and finished “Adrift” by Scott Galloway. He is an economics professor that became famous because of his commentary on youtube. He is very funny but insightful. In this book he talks about how America is Adrift and at a possible tipping point. He uses 100 charts to show what he is talking about. The book is short and sweet, but packed full of information and charts that you can use in your Nation, or Tribe building discussion.

Today I am sharing the first official “Adventures Of Brother ha2tim”. This video was shot in the midst of Covid, and everything was shut down or was on its way to being shut down. I decided to downsize my life so that I could invest more time and Money into the Tribe. I hope that you enjoy.
