Dear Family,

I’m back on the trail, literally and metaphorically, and I wanted to reach out and share some updates with you as I stride into these next steps on our shared path.

First off, I must apologize for the quiet on my end these past few weeks. I haven't been as consistent in sending out our regular emails, and I feel it's important to explain why. As we transition from the vibrant start of summer into the deeper days of July, my focus has been intensely split among several crucial projects.

One major endeavor I’ve been wrapping my mind around is the expansion of the Simba Workbook—a cornerstone of our collective journey and a reflection of our mission. The depth and richness we're adding are intended to enrich this essential guide, helping us all navigate our paths with greater wisdom and courage.

Additionally, I’ve been deeply involved in running a summer program called "Roots and Wings" for some incredible young people. This commitment, while rewarding, has also been consuming a significant portion of my time, further contributing to my delayed communications.

On a more personal note, my mobility took a hit with my car breaking down over a month ago. Since turning in the school van I used for picking up kids, I’ve been making my daily commute on foot—between seven and a half to eight miles each way. This challenge, however, has turned into a cherished time for reflection and gathering energy before the day begins.

Looking ahead, I’m gearing up for a packed schedule. Next week, I’ll be heading to New Orleans, and from there, straight to Simba Camp. I anticipate things will slow down by early August, which should give me the space to catch up and recalibrate. By then, I hope to have my vehicle back, easing my mornings and allowing more seamless transitions into my workdays.

I'm also contemplating how best to continue delivering the content that you find valuable—whether through folktales, proverbs, or other mediums. It’s crucial for me that I provide you with insights and stories that not only resonate but also propel us toward our collective greatness.

Amidst all this, the recent political landscape, particularly the Supreme Court’s latest decisions, has given me much to ponder about the state of our nation. These developments reinforce the urgency of our mission, reminding us of the importance of staying aware and connected.
